Founded by Ana Davis, Bliss Baby Yoga is internationally renowned for offering quality yoga teacher training courses in the specialist field of Yoga for Women.

Grounded in safe and scientifically based practice our courses offer a balanced approach to the theoretical, practical and the more holistic elements of teaching prenatal and postnatal students with intelligence, awareness and sensitivity.

In addition to our core team of dedicated prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher trainers, Bliss Baby Yoga boasts a diverse faculty of women’s health professionals including midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, psychologists, physiotherapists, naturopaths and ayurvedic practitioners.

 

Ana Davis

Ana Davis, Director Bliss Baby Yoga

Ana has been a keen yoga practitioner since 1990 and teaching since 1996. She has specialised in the area of prenatal and postnatal yoga since 2004.

Ana originally received her yoga certification from the Sydney Yoga Centre under the mentorship of Eve Grzybowsky in 1996. In 2003 she opened her own studio in Sydney and quickly acquired a reputation for her beautiful prenatal yoga classes.

In 2007, a ‘sea-change’ took Ana to Byron Bay where she started up Bliss Baby Yoga, training prenatal yoga teachers.

Ana’s teaching style and methodology is diverse and eclectic. She combines breath and movement in a flowing style but takes time for stillness and intelligent alignment principles. She loves to introduce students and teachers alike to the incredible power of Restorative Yoga.

Ana is also a freelance writer. Her articles regularly appear in the Australian Yoga Life and Wellbeing Magazines.

As mother to 7 year old, Marley, Ana is passionate about sharing the benefits and joys of yoga for every stage of one’s life journey.

Star Despres Bliss Baby Yoga

Star Despres is a devoted yogini, practising since she was 19 and teaching since 2006. She is a Senior Byron Yoga Centre qualified Teacher and Teacher Trainer, has been facilitating Bliss Baby Yoga teacher training courses since 2010. Star’s passions rest in inspiring and empowering women to reconnect with the divine feminine, no matter what stage of life they are in, and assisting them to find a more nurturing approach to life. She especially loves to support women through pregnancy, the postnatal period and times of exhaustion and depletion via the practise of Restorative Yoga and daily self care rituals. She is also the founder of Divine Star, an Online sanctuary for women to reconnect to their authentic selves. Her greatest role is as a mama of 2 daughters (17 years apart), and continues to fine tune the balance of work and Mamahood whilst also honouring her own needs.

Rosie Matheson Bliss Baby Maternity Facilitator

Rosie Matheson is one of the few fertility yoga teachers actively practicing in the U.S. She is an expert in women's yoga, teaching classes and workshops in yoga for fertility, healthy menstruation, as well as yoga for both pre and postnatal phases. Rosie has trained extensively in Hatha Yoga, and is a qualified Doula. Rosie leads Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Courses and Fertility Yoga workshops internationally, and currently conducts yearly trainings in Australia, Singapore, Japan Thailand and, as of 2015, India and the USA.

Rosie's foundational work in women's yoga was conducted during a three year residency on Koh Phangan, Thailand. There she participated in over 700 hours of Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training courses in addition to attending Yoga Therapy workshops, meditation courses, and a variety of women's initiation retreats and classes. Rosie's passionate and intuitive nature, coupled with her wealth of experience, makes her teaching style comprehensive, insightful, nurturing and utterly feminine.

Emma Grant Bliss Baby Yoga

Emma Grant has been practicing yoga since 1996 and teaching since 2001. She has maintained her practice of yoga, meditation and Ayurveda throughout her two pregnancies and into motherhood.

Trained in pregnancy and postnatal yoga, Emma has also studied Ayurveda at Naturecare (Sydney) and with Ayurvedic Doctors in India.

Emma is Founder and Director of the Red Tent Yoga School based in Byron Bay specialising in classes for pre/postnatal women and kids yoga. Emma has been a senior course facilitator for Bliss Baby Yoga teacher training courses across Australia and internationally for a number of years.

 

Mari_Notaras_Bliss_Baby_Yoga

Mari Notaras has taught and practiced yoga for over 15 years.Mari's passion and interest in prenatal yoga naturally developed when she fell pregnant with her first child.

She discovered that yoga during pregnancy was such a powerful tool - finding incredible peace, strength, and a strong connection to the feminine energy that was residing deep within.

Mari has taught pregnant women and new mums for over 8 years, and has studied extensively in the area of Pre and Postnatal Yoga with many great prenatal teachers from both Australia and around the world.

 

 

Jennifer Allen Bliss Baby Yoga

Jennifer Allen is an E-RYT 500 / RPYT certified instructor who teaches a variety of classes around Auckland in Purna Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Pilates. In addition to facilitating on the Bliss Baby Trainings, Jennifer works as a teacher trainer on the Byron Yoga Centre 200 hour level 1 and 500 hr level 2 teacher training courses. Jennifer has been expressing herself through body movement for as long as she can remember. Originally from the USA, she began as a professional dancer and musical theatre performer. Yoga and Pilates were the channels through which she maintained her physical and emotional wellbeing throughout an intense performing career in New York, so therefore it was a seamless transition into teaching and sharing her joy of movement and yoga. As a mother of two, Jennifer has experienced first-hand the many benefits of a regular yoga practice to support her through the amazing journey of pregnancy, birth and motherhood, and is keen to share her knowledge and experience.

Kanako Yajima Bliss Baby YogaKanako Yajima has been practicing yoga since 2000, teaching since 2006 and teaching prenatal yoga since 2010. She has been trained in various styles of yoga including Solomon Yogalates, Ishta System with Rachel Zinman, and the Five Element Form with Peter Clifford. 

Kanako has worked internationally in many teacher trainings, retreats and workshops as both interpreter (for Japanese groups) and as a teacher trainer. Thanks to her experience as a yoga translator/interpreter and her dedication to knowledge and growth, she has been immersed in various teachings including yoga philosophy, anatomy & physiology, pranayama and meditation and her teaching derives from that extensive knowledge and experience. She is grateful everyday for being a mother to her daughter as it has been the most challenging yet beautiful and transformational yoga sadhana in life.

Kate Moody

Kate Moody is a Melbourne yoga teacher, and founder of 'Radiant Wellbeing’, who specialises in women’s health and vitality. Due to her own healing journey with the chronic fatigue syndrome, Kate is passionate about offering women the experience of sacred “restoration and rest” that brings every woman home to her wisdom and true nature. She specialises in the areas of prenatal and postnatal wellbeing, chronic illness recovery and replenishing women’s feminine energy and vitality. 

 

  

Tara LR

Tara Fitzgibbon has been teaching yoga since the year 2000 and training yoga teachers since 2011. She is a master of Savasana and has taught hundreds of people worldwide to dive deeper into their own being through her guided awareness and soothing voice.

Her passion is yoga and from the busy lifestyles in which we live, Tara has learned that breathing, resting and letting go is what women need most, as we give so much, so often. A mother of three school aged children, she understands the challenges women face today and her yoga teachings help empower women to heal.

Anna Watts Bliss Baby Yoga

Anna Watts, a beloved guest teacher for Bliss Baby Yoga for some years now, is a professional Childbirth Educator and Doula Trainer who has been working with pregnant women/couples for over 25 years.

Her wide experience includes Diploma in Childbirth Education, Diploma in Counselling, Cert IV Training & Assessment, training prenatal yoga teachers, facilitating birth classes, prenatal yoga and supporting many births as a doula. Anna is a mother to two beautiful, adult daughters.


 

Lisa Fitzpatrick Bliss Baby Yoga

Lisa Fitzpatrick is a physiotherapist, best selling author, mother of two, yoga teacher, yoga teacher trainer (specialising in Anatomy & Physiology), and coach who revels in supporting women to find their soul purpose.

Lisa has over 20 years experience working with people to improve health by promoting Mind-Body awareness. She has a specialised interest in women's health, well-being and spiritual consciousness, and has a talent for making complex anatomical concepts simple and fun. As the founder of Sacred Women’s Business, a coaching and training business, Lisa provides coaching for intelligent and conscious entrepreneurs with a legacy to leave.


Lauren Tober Bliss Baby Yoga

Dr Lauren Tober is a mother of two, yoga teacher and clinical psychologist, who has also trained in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, iRest Yoga Nidra™ and Life Force Yoga. Her passion is in bridging the gap between Western and yogic psychology to help people to heal and to live full and wholehearted lives. She is also the founder of "Capturing Gratitude" and "A Daily Dose of Bliss".

Robyn BellRobyn Bell - Operations Manager

Our Bliss Baby Yoga Operations Manager, Robyn, has had a passion for yoga for over 10 years and in 2013 completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certification through Byron Yoga in the Ishta System with Rachel Zinman.

Robyn's philosophy is to treat yourself and others with kindness. She believes that yoga should be a nourishing and nurturing experience, which she promotes through her business, Kind Yoga. This shared philosophy on yoga is what drew Robyn to Bliss Baby Yoga and Ana Davis's approach to nourishing and nurturing women with yoga, through the various stages of their life.

Robyn feels incredibly blessed to be part of the Bliss Baby Yoga team - combining her passion for organisation, her experience in administration and operations management, and her love of yoga, within this role. She is also incredibly grateful to be able to share the gift of yoga through teaching her own weekly yoga classes in the Byron Shire.

Joining us in early 2015, Bianca is our newest addition to the Bliss Baby team.
Bianca’s journey with yoga began in her early years of study in an ashram community in Victoria. After working behind the scenes in planning yoga and meditation retreats and completing her 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, she made the move to the transforming energies of Byron Bay to ground her experience.
 
A lover of the Divine Feminine, Bianca feels incredibly grateful to have found the divine women who permeate Bliss Baby Yoga, as they endorse the beauty of femininity through yogic living and offer accessible yoga to women during times of huge transformation.
 
Bianca is very much inspired by the embodiment of yoga in everyday living, as a way of just ’being’ and embracing life - both on and off the yoga mat. This inspiration has sparked Bianca’s movement towards studying Occupational Therapy, where she, too, would like to offer yoga to people in times of change as an integral and accessible part of the healing process.
 
Bianca also enjoys sharing her yoga practice with others through asana and meditation, offering a weekly gentle class in Byron Bay to come together and tap the innate creative force within each of us.

Miranda Bliss Baby YogaMiranda Burne - Online Course Administrator

Mother of a chubby cheeked toddler, Miranda administers the online course registrations while her baby sleeps. Miranda is also Ana’s little sister, and though she may be considered biased, she is Ana’s biggest fan, and has been deeply inspired and shaped by Ana’s sensitive approach to yoga.

Miranda is passionate about the principal of ahimsa, “do no harm”, and loves to practice and teach yoga that is least likely to cause injury, but will instead reinforce the body’s protective mechanisms by building postural awareness and core strength.

Sophie Duncan - Illustrator / Designer

Sophie Duncan has been a member of the Bliss Baby Yoga team since 2012. She is the creative genius behind the beautiful illustrations in our manuals and in Ana Davis's book, The Dark Moon - Nurturing Yoga for Healthy Menstruation.

Sophie is currently in the process of completing her level 1 Yoga Teacher Training with Byron Yoga Centre, and has her own eco-friendly wedding stationery business,
Deer Daisy.

Sophie's other passions in life include gardening, nutrition, cooking, and reading.
