The Bliss Baby Prenatal Weekend Intensive is fun, practical and packed with information to help launch you into the growing field of teaching pregnant students.   Due to popular demand we've just added this date in March, 2013.   

This 20 hour Intensives is designed to equip you with greater knowledge, confidence and a comprehensive ‘tool kit’ of appropriate asanas (postures) and practices for safely teaching pregnant women during all stages of pregnancy and to prepare for birth.

We will cover the theoretical and practical applications, including:

  • The three trimesters - psycho-physiological changes to mum and baby
  • Birth: stages of labour; supporting a woman for a natural birth
  • "The Golden Rules" - safety guidelines for prenatal students
  • Sequencing for prenatal yoga - the 5 prenatal posture groups
  • Prenatal yoga therapy/ applied Anatomy & Physiology: back problems & pelvic instabilty during pregnancy; other common prenatal complaints
  • Pelvic floor & squatting
  • Working with props to modify for various stages of pregnancy
  • Prenatal Restorative Yoga
  • Prenatal partner yoga
  • Pranayama and Yoga Nidra for pregnancy and birth

The Instructors

Ana Davis has been teaching yoga for 17 years and is the founder of Bondi Bliss Yoga Studio in Sydney.  Ana has been specialising in the area of teaching and training teachers in pre/postnatal yoga for the last 7 years, and conducts her teacher training and yoga for women's health workshops in Australia and Japan.

Ana is based in Byron Bay and is also a senior teacher on Byron Yoga Centre’s teacher training courses.  Ana also specializes in Restorative Yoga and teaches on Byron Yoga Centre’s Yoga Therapy Teacher Training CoursesAs mother to 8 year old Marley, Ana is passionate about sharing the benefits and joys of yoga for every stage of one’s life journey.

Star Rumble is a devoted yogini and has been practicing yoga for 19 years and teaching for 6 years.  SStarhe is a Senior Byron Yoga Centre qualified Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer and has trained as a Bliss Baby Facilitator with Ana Davis, and supervises students undergoing our online courses.  She also teaches prenatal and postnatal yoga classes at Red Tent Yoga and at the Pregnancy Support Group in Byron Bay.

Star is passionate about working with and empowering women at all stages of their lives and has a keen interest in the sacred space a woman experiences as she moves through the stages of pregnancy and birth.  She has two children, her youngest is a 10 month old, Willow.  She continues to expand her knowledge base by undergoing Doula certification.

Bio-3Rosie Matheson is a yoga teacher who took her first yoga class at 10 years of age!  Since then she has trained extensively in Chakra Yoga & Virajati Yoga.  She is the Co-founder of the 'Tantric Mama', and a qualified Doula (birth support) who specialises in prenatal & fertility yoga.  Since 2009 she has focused primarily on studying Tantra and Sacred Femininity and sharing her yoga and femininity workshops and women's circles in Thailand, India, Australia and the U.S.A.  Rosie has been a Bliss Baby Facilitator for the last two years having completed the full Bliss Baby 100 hour RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training).  Rosie's teaching style is soft, utterly feminine and gently insightful, and she is passionate about inspiring and nurturing the divine essence in all women.

Course Prerequisites

The Intensive modules are suitable for yoga teachers and teacher trainees (at minimum of level 1), and anyone who works in women’s health related fields, interested in finding out more about the benefits and applications of yoga pre and post natally.

Accreditation

Attendance of the weekend modules provides ongoing Professional Development hours/ points for Yoga Australia & Yoga Alliance members

Yoga teacher members of both the Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia are required to complete ongoing professional development to keep their membership current.

Registrants of our weekend modules will receive a Completion Certificate and will be able to use the course hours to accrue these necessary professional development hours,  as well as to gain the all-important knowledge and skills to launch them into this specialized area of women’s health.
